Discover Angelo Mangiarotti's timeless modernity photographed by Andrea Ferrari.
The masterpieces of a great master. Agape's passion for the culture of design and the long collaboration with Angelo Mangiarotti culminated in 2010 in the creation of Agapecasa. The collection, under the artistic direction of Camilla Benedini, re-edits the original pieces of one of the most polyhedric and interesting Italian masters of design and architecture of the 20th century. Andrea Ferrari and Roberto Barazzuol boast a long-standing collaboration with Agape, and while Barazzuol has already worked for Agapecasa in the past, Ferrari devotes his talent to the collection for the first time.
Portraits of marble, stone and light. "The image work done for Agapecasa and the Mangiarotti collection is structured within a "classic code" where photography draws an "Ideal" space and light for the subject. The body of images was designed with a view to a rare and more specific relationship: the one between photography and sculpture. The whole Mangiarotti collection was first observed and then photographed following its lines and its statuary relationships, highlighting its noble materials belonging to the formality of art and finally finding that precious "perceptive material" found in the union between the marble, stone and light”, says Andrea Ferrari.
Discovering a Palace of art. The images in the catalog offer new glimpses and visions of the internal courtyard and the rooms of Palazzo Beccaguti Cavriani, a magnificent gallery and residence lined with contemporary art.
“The new edition of the Agapecasa catalog features new photographs shot on location in a historic Renaissance palace in the heart of Mantua, the city where Agape has its roots. It is precisely this charm given by the light and the atmosphere of bygone times that grants the perfect setting for the products designed by the master Angelo Mangiarotti and the evidence of how these objects can be considered timeless archetypes", explains Roberto Barazzuol.
Behind the scenes of the project. "This shooting was prepared with care and attention regarding the interpretation of the spaces and their dialogue with Agapecasa products. The styling curated by 72STEPS is distinguished by an apparently simple but effective elegance that does not impose itself but leaves the scene to the product. The changing daylight and Andrea Ferrari's photographic talent did the rest: skilfully fixing light and image, architecture and sculpture" concludes the art director of the catalogue.
